New Hampshire Small Business Bookkeeping

Take the stress of the books off your plate so you can get back to the work you actually love.

Let's Connect

A bookkeeper who gets what it's like to run a small business.

I'm Zack, a QuickBooks Online certified bookkeeper based in New Hampshire. I didn't come up through a corporate accounting firm — I learned bookkeeping the way most small business owners do: by needing it and figuring it out.

I keep my client list intentionally small. That means every business I work with gets my full attention and a bookkeeper who is genuinely committed to keeping their finances clean and organized.

An unlikely path to bookkeeping.

I've spent nearly 20 years doing physical outdoor work — building and testing mountain bike trails and snowboard terrain parks. By night I play in a band called Broke and Ugly. At some point the band started picking up steam and became a real small business, which meant invoices, expenses, and finances that needed to be tracked.

"I had to figure out bookkeeping fast — and somewhere along the way, I realized I was actually good at it and genuinely enjoyed it."

I got QuickBooks Online certified and started offering bookkeeping services to other small businesses. I'm still doing my outdoor work — I love it and I'm still going strong at 40 — but I'm building toward something more sustainable for the long run.

Granite Balance Bookkeeping is the result. A small, deliberate practice built around doing good work for a handful of clients who deserve a bookkeeper that actually cares.

Good questions.

Are you accepting new clients?

Yes — I'm currently taking on a small number of new clients. I keep my roster intentionally limited so every client gets the attention they deserve. Reach out and we'll see if we're a good fit.

What software do you work with?

I'm QuickBooks Online certified and also work with Zoho Books. If you're already using one of these, great. If you're not sure what you need, I'm happy to help figure that out.

What size businesses do you work with?

Small businesses — sole proprietors, LLCs, freelancers, small crews. If your books aren't massive and complicated, you're probably a good fit.

Do you work remotely?

Yes, entirely remote. I work with clients across New England and beyond.

What are your rates?

Rates depend on the scope and complexity of your books. Reach out and we'll have an honest conversation about what makes sense for your business.

Let's talk about your books.
